A Day in the Life at Dog Academy Clubhouse
What your dog experiences during daycare and boarding
Our goal is simple: a predictable, safe routine that balances play, rest, meals, and comfort—so dogs go home happy (not over-tired).
What We Do Differently
- Meals served separately for every dog (no group feeding).
- A calm digestion window before active play.
- Dogs are grouped by energy level and rotated with rest breaks.
- A daily mandatory nap time so dogs can reset.
Boarding: Morning Routine
- 6:00 am — Wake up and potty
- Before 7:00 am — Breakfast served separately for EVERYONE
- 30 minutes to 1 hour — Minimal digestion period before play
Why We Wait After Meals
That calm digestion window helps reduce tummy upset and keeps dogs comfortable before active play.
Boarding: Daytime Flow
After digestion, your dog is introduced to their energy-matched play yard. Dogs are cycled throughout the day with rest breaks and nap times. Climate-controlled rest (heat or air conditioning) is used when needed.
Mandatory Nap Time (12:00 pm – 1:00 pm)
Please plan accordingly: Do not drop off during nap time. Drop-offs during this hour excite the other dogs, naps get interrupted, and the group can get grumpy all afternoon.
Safety-Based Rotations
Not all dogs like all dogs. Some dogs (especially intact males) may not do well with certain groups. We use a rotation system that keeps dogs safe and happy, and this is why additional rest periods, indoor time, or separate rotations are sometimes necessary.
Boarding: Evening Routine
- All dogs are placed in their respective boarding space (kennel/suite/free roam room).
- Boarding pick-ups: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
- Dinner: Served between 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
- Evening play inside and outside until bedtime
- Bedtime: 9:00 pm
Boarding Options & Pricing (Per 24 Hours)
Boarding is billed per 24 hours. Pick-ups beyond the 24-hour period are charged either a half-day or full-day of daycare depending on pick-up time (our software calculates this automatically).
- Basic Boarding
0–30 lbs: $45
31 lbs and up: $55 - 4’ x 4’ Glass Suites: $65
- Free Roam: $75
Eligibility: 2 years of age and up + temperament testing required
Health & Safety Adjustments
Boarding prices are subject to change and may be upgraded or downgraded as necessary for your dog’s health and safety.
Dogs with severe separation anxiety who have not been here before may be cycled through boarding options to find what’s best for the dog. Pricing will match the option that is safest and most appropriate.
Daycare: How the Day Works
When dropped off (depending on the time and which dogs are outside), your dog may be kenneled or placed in a free-roam area until appropriate playmates are cycled out. Dogs will be inside or outside playing most of the time.
When Dogs Are Not Outside
Occasionally dogs are not outside for safety purposes—for staff or for other dogs. Our system is designed to keep dogs safe, comfortable, and matched appropriately.
Nap Times Matter
Nap times may seem silly, but they are essential for your dog’s health and well-being. Just like people, dogs have “social batteries.” Rest gives an adequate reset so your dog can enjoy the most out of daycare.
Going Home Time (4:00 pm – 6:00 pm)
During pickup, we place dogs in their respective spaces for the safety of dogs and staff. This allows our team to safely bring dogs through the facility to their owners.
Daycare Pricing
- Half Day (up to 4 hours): Visitors $25 | Locals $20
- Whole Day (4–12 hours): Visitors $35 | Locals $30
Valid local Florida ID is required for local pricing.
Why This System Works (For Dogs + Owners)
- Predictability reduces stress: Dogs relax faster when the day follows a consistent routine.
- Rest prevents overstimulation: Nap times reduce crankiness and keep play healthier.
- Safer handling: Structured pickup times reduce chaos and improve safety.
- Better social outcomes: Energy-based grouping helps dogs have more successful play experiences.
